Biggest problem in real estate: COMMUNICATION
In this featured video, Nick Fong states that he finds that most problems are sources with bad communication. Also, many of those problems stem from a lack of communication or no communication at all. Therefore, if you are having problems in real estate, assess your communications with your clients and your coworkers. As Nick says – that’s probably the source of your real estate problem.
Proper staging is critical for selling your home
Setting the “stage” for that first impression is called Home Staging. Staging your home is about transforming the possibilities to broaden the scope of potential buyers and get you top value for your home.
First impressions matter. Therefore, make your home stand out the instant buyers pull up to the curb. Some upgrades can be done in a weekend and will cost more in sweat equity than actual dollars.
Here are some suggestions: rent a pressure washer to remove dirt and grime from your siding, roof, fascia and gutters. Paint the front door and/or shutters a bright color, but make sure it coordinates well with the rest of the home’s colors. Replace old house numbers, lighting, the mailbox and welcome mat.
Clean up the edging around flowerbeds and lay down fresh mulch. Fill in empty beds with small shrubs, seasonal flowers and greenery. Even if it’s the dead of winter, get a pair of urns or large planters and fill them with small evergreen shrubs and cold-hardy annuals. If you have window boxes, fill them with fresh greenery too. If your porch or stoop has room for furniture, add a couple of chairs to expand your outdoor living space.
Describing failure in real estate
After all of the success that Nick Fong has had in real estate, he says that he can link it always to a series of failures that he’s learned from. When you pay attention and account for your mistakes, it’s failures that lead to success. In other words, don’t be discouraged by failure, even if you fail often. Fail fast and move on, learning from that failure.
Once you realize that failure as a function of success, deal with it in a positive way. Look at failure as an opportunity to try something better. It doesn’t have to be what causes you to fail and quit. Now, check out this three-step course of action to turn your failures into successes:
1. Acknowledging your failure
First, you need to acknowledge your failure early-on. As such, stop what you’re doing right away if your actions fail. In other words, don’t waste any more of your time on it.
2. Evaluating your failure
Next, evaluate your failure in great detail. To explain, go through the details of your failure and root-cause what caused the problem. Then, make sure you look into what your missed. Finally, uncover what you did wrong as quick as possible. Additionally, be honest with yourself – you must learn from your failure so you can grow and succeed.
3. Correcting your course
Update your plan of action moving forward. To elaborate, prepare a new course based on your acquired understanding of the problems you faced.
