Best places to dive in Cabo Pulmo
Two of the recommended reefs to explore are, firstly: The islet, which is located south of the bay of Cabo Pulmo, it has a maximum depth of 60 feet. You’ll find yourself impressed by the intense colors of the marine life vividly moving around this promontory of the reef.
Plan a day trip from Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo or even La Ribera to dive into the Cabo Pulmo reefs. Organize the trip yourself if you’re an experienced diver or plan with a dive company if you’re a first-timer!

Known for kiteboarding, there are few places along the Sea of Cortez are as rich in animal and plant life as Los Barriles in East Cape. To begin, one of the abundant species is the whale shark. This is a harmless fish the size of a whale – thus its name. And unlike its feared relatives, it only eats algae and tiny animals. Interestingly, its mouth measures up to one meter. And, it has no teeth as it filters its food through its gills – filter feeder.
As you’ll see, East Cape is quite a hidden gem in the Cabo region. It’s now becoming a popular place for big game anglers as this area started as a fishing community. Therefore, now big fishing tournaments take place offshore and bring many people looking for calm waters to enjoy. Besides fishing, you can also find the Cabo Pulmo sanctuary, which is a must-see for snorkelers and divers.
As part of Los Barriles, the fleet of boats that are include yachts and fishing vessels that are fully equipped with experienced captains that will take you to the best places to catch great fish. Los Barriles is also de home of the Brown pelican, a marine bird that mainly eats sardines that are captured on the water’s surface. They eat well due to the wonderful density of its shoals.
Surfing Cerritos Beach on the Pacific
Located only 15-minutes from Todos Santos, 35-minutes to downtown Cabo San Lucas and 60 minutes to the SJD International Airport in San Jose del Cabo, Vista Cerritos in near it all. And, the activities in the Los Cerritos area include surfing, fishing, ATV rentals, horseback riding, amazing sightseeing, and mountain biking and hiking trails all around.
There, you’ll find the crescent-shaped stretch of sand called Cerritos Beach. And being only ten minutes south of Todos Santos, along the beautiful Pacific Ocean coastline, there’s more than meets the eye.
