Cabo now hosts professional soccer

Making its official debut on October 16, 2020, The Los Cabos Fútbol Club will compete within the LBM (Liga de Balompié Mexicano – Mexican Football League), which is endorsed by the FMF (Federación Mexicana de Fútbol – Mexican Football Federation), the highest representative body in Mexico before FIFA (Federación Mexicana de Fútbol Asociación – Mexican Football Federation Association).  That’s great news for Cabo, as they recover from COVID-19.

This debut was announced by Gaspar López Villafuerte, the team president after the location selection process had concluded.  Los Cabos was up against Oaxaca, Acapulco, Ensenada, and Yucatan – all top-runners for this new team.  Gaspar López Villafuerte also announced that the Los Cabos Fútbol Club will have a solid presence and a high level of competitiveness from the moment of its presentation at the Mexican Football League.

Under the technical direction of one of the top sports legends of the Chivas Rayadas del Guadalajara, Joel “Tiburón” Sánchez, Los Cabos Fútbol Club will seek to quickly consolidate itself in the professional soccer circuit nationwide, competing with franchises from different states in Mexico.

In addition to Yenekamu Stadium, El Arenal and La Joya in Cabo San lucas along with Las Veredas in San Jose del Cabo, will also host the Los Cabos Fútbol Club.  This was announced by the director of the Municipal Sports Institute of Los Cabos, Perla Castro Perpuli.    And for something to look forward to, Victor Montiel, the national president of the Mexican Football Society revealed that this new headquarters may even be part of the Conifa World Cut, which is coming soon.

Perla Castro Perpuli thanked the municipal president for her collaboration.  Thanks to her, this project can now be carried out, and local talent can now be projected nationally and internationally.
