This is happening in San José del Cabo and near the central stadium of the city it’s where the fun begins. This event is a race that’ll have around 1,500 children participating! The race has the main goal of raising funds for the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation, which helps the most vulnerable sectors of the Cabo region. Fundraiser Fun
Its the first time in Los Cabos that an event like this is made, and thanks to this bright idea, it’ll now be an annual event. As this event was created especially for children, the funds raised will also go to foundations related to the little ones. The event will happen all day long, starting early in the morning with races of 100, 200, and 400 meters for the little ones. Also, right after that, there’ll be the 2k, 5k, and 10k races for everyone interested in participating and who also enjoy running. Don’t forget this is an event for the whole family, ideal for spending unforgettable moments! As a bonus, many sponsors are interested in this fundraiser to support the good cause. And, better yet, the best of all is anyone can be a sponsor, so this could be your time to become a part of it!
What to expect in Race for Cabo kids
Race for Cabo has high expectations from the sponsors as more than 1500 children expected to participate. This number doesn’t include the adults who participate in different marathons, so the number of people who will be part of the event can be limitless. Thanks to this, they hope to raise around 60-70 thousand dollars, which will go to the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation. Subsequently, the foundation plans to invest that money for two new buses in a transportation service five days a week to children on the outskirts of the city who need critical medical assistance. They cannot obtain them due to a lack of transportation.
In Mexico, there’s a very famous annual Telethon, similar to the Jerry Lewis telethon in the United States. In that telethon event, the funds raised are used to build “CRITs.” These buildings are special care and rehabilitation institutions for vulnerable sectors of the community and people with physical disabilities. Within La Paz, you’ll find one of the newest and most innovative CRITs in Mexico. It usually serves more than 400 people from all over Baja California, the same number that began to decrease as many had no way to get there due to lack of transportation.
