How to become the best Real Estate agent in your region

The solution to becoming the best real estate agent in your region is actually quite simple.  “We” are stronger then “I.”  To explain, when you’re selling real estate, the power of “we” will get you much further than the power of “I” or “me.”  That means, when you use your team effectively, you’ll get further quicker.

An individual sales agent has limited experience – some more, and some less.  But when you’re working with a team of other real estate agents, your peers, you’re learning from their experience.  That’s how it becomes the power of “we.”  You’ll gain great support when working with a team of real estate professionals.  That support will help launch your real estate career much faster than when you just try to do it on your own.

What is the best virtue of a real estate agent?

Starting with sellers who test your patience, they will challenge you while selling their homes.  As examples, sometimes they won’t furnish their property for sale.  Then, they may not repair all damages to their house or condo.  Finally, they have those pesty renters occupying their property when you try to sell it.  So keep in mind that patience will always pay off.  On top of that, know that your competition usually lacks patience.  That’ll provide you an advantage.

Although it seems obvious, patience really is one of the best virtues a real estate agent must have.  Being patient with your prospects and clients will always put you on top.  But of course, it’s really tough.  When your prospects and clients take you through property after property, and they still don’t make a solid decision, your patience will run thin.  But don’t let that happen.  It really is what separates the successful from the unsuccessful.

Two of Nick’s sources of inspiration: Bruce Lee & bamboo

Starting with Bruce Lee, Nick shares a great quote from him.  In fact, it makes perfect sense.  And, it can help you be successful in many parts of your life.  Here’s what Bruce Lee had to say:

“Be like water.”

At first glance, this quote may be confusing.  But when you ponder it, you realize that water becomes many things.  It doesn’t have any shape.  And, it takes the shape of whatever contains it.  When you pour water into a glass, visually, it becomes the glass.  When it flows in a river, it becomes the river.

Next, Nick says that you should be like bamboo.  To elaborate, when you’re a real estate agent, being like bamboo means being patient.  To explain, when bamboo is planted, it sits in the ground for about five years before it grows.  Then after those five years, it breaks the surface and grows up to 30 meters in five to six weeks.

If you act like bamboo with new prospects, you must nurture them with great patience.  When you do, they will eventually buy from you, the agent who stuck with them and kept in touch.  In other words, it always pays off to act like bamboo.  You will succeed when you can remain patient and stick with it for the long haul.
