Barbi Lopez specializes in vacation rentals in Cabo
Having been in the vacation rentals industry in Cabo for quite some time now, Barbi Lopez tells Nick how the home owners of vacation rentals have changed their approach. Like she says, she witnessed the change in their approach over the years as demand has evolved. To explain, in 2021, the demand for vacation rentals exploded after the COVID situation calmed down.
Now that more people work from home, many of them enjoy renting a home in Cabo for two to three months at a time. In fact, many new developments are now focusing their attention on vacation rentals due to this much higher demand. On top of that, vacation rentals has become the new normal for property owners in Cabo.
Over the last 12 months, many investors have come to Cabo to buy homes to use as vacation rentals. And since property values are always rising in Cabo, their investments are quite sound while providing great income for them. As Barbi explains, it not only covers their mortgage, but it also provides profit every month.
In the video, Barbi Lopez tell Nick about an amazing example about how the vacation rental industry has changed recently. In Vista Vela, there were only four vacation rental condos there in total. Now, there are 40 vacation rental condominiums. That’s a 10x increase in just a few years!
Community responses to the vacation rental industry explosion
Since more and more houses and condos are being used as vacation rentals, communities are certainly affected. As Nick explains, each week, different families spend time there, in the pools, and around the area – people that residents do not know. And in Cabo, visitors enjoy having a great time there. As such, HOAs and city ordinances have been updated to increase control and limits.
Normally, the limits and control imposed on communities regarding vacation rentals has a negative affect on the vacation rental industry. But when handled properly, both sides win. Therefore, Ronival Property management works with all HOAs and the government to help the vacation rental industry to grow properly.
