About JJ and Olivia Huskey
Starting with Olivia Huskey, she tells Nick that she’s from Northern California – Yuba City just outside of Sacramento. She says that she was born and raised there, a small farming town as she calls it. JJ on the other hand is from Mariposa, California.
Professionally, the two of them were in real estate for eight years there in Northern California. Olivia tells Nick that her mom was in real estate prior to that. In fact, her mom is the one who encouraged her to get into real estate in the first place. Now, she truly loves real estate.
How JJ and Olivia discovered Los Cabos
About the time the COVID-19 pandemic struck, they had travelled to Los Cabos to visit there for the first time. They describe it to Nick as being a place they’ve always wanted to visit. San Jose del Cabo it the town they stayed in while in Los Cabos. Unfortunately, being right after COVID-19 began, everything was locked down. JJ tells Nick that it was like a ghost town. That would have been the case anywhere for sure.
Even though they had a tough experience in Los Cabos their first time, they certainly understood the situation. As such, they came back in January of 2021. This time, they brought their children with them – two of their three kids. Right away, JJ started asking Olivia if she wanted to live in Los Cabos.
Later in 2021, two months later, they decided to purchase a condo in Los Cabos after selling one of their properties in Northern California. Then, they sold another property in California so they ended up buying another place in Los Cabos – two-for-two, as JJ explains to Nick.
Finally, after watching Nick Fong’s PODCASTs for about two years, they decided to actually move to Los Cabos permanently. Olivia tells Nick that he brought them to Los Cabos, referring to all the PODCAST videos they watched. So finally, they moved to Los Cabos in August of 2022.
Starting their real estate career in Los Cabos
Having closed on two properties in Los Cabos, they had a great feel for closing real estate in Mexico. That means, they were able to combine their great real estate knowledge and experience with what they had learned about buying Mexican real estate. Now, they work for Ronival Real Estate and they live in one of the best places on Earth – Los Cabos.
