About Lori Harrison
Originally from Vancouver B.C. in Canada, Lori Harrison has lived in Los Cabos for 25 years now. As she says in the video, she crossed two borders to exchange the rainy weather for the beautiful sunny weather in Los Cabos. Interestingly, her original reason form moving to Los Cabos was because her husband was asked to import Corona into Canada – she calls that a “fun story.” As it turns out, her husband is the original importer of Corona into Canada.
Nick Fong and Lori Harrison first met when Nick was out walking in the park and Lori was coming toward him walking six dogs all at one time. She was dog sitting for her neighbors. As Nick and Lori were passing each other with a greeting, one little dog she was walking ran behind Nick and bit him on the leg. She thought that was cute until he told her he was actually bleeding.
After telling Nick that the little dog had all of his shots, Lori told Nick that the little dog wanted to know if he had all of HIS shots. In the video, they laugh about this first encounter as they remember it together. Nick says that he thought “who is this lady who’s dog just bit me asking me if I had all of MY shots?” As you can tell from their interaction, it’s quite a cherished memory.
Many paths to becoming a real estate agent
Right from the start of the video, Nick states that there are many ways to become a real estate agent. Of course, he does have what he calls ‘the easiest way to become a real estate agent.” And, this way is quite simple. Just contact a real estate broker and try to get hired. As an important note, be sure to choose a broker that has many agents working for them.
After you’re able convince that real estate broker to hire you, they’ll walk you through the entire process. This will get your real estate on track in a controlled, organized, and simple way. And, your chance of success will be great as you leverage all that broker has to offer you.
If you don’t seek out a good real estate broker, or if you want to do it by yourself – DIY real estate agent, you certainly can do it. Number one, you need to get licensed. To get a license, you must pay the fee and go through the education program.
When you get that license, make sure you become affiliated with listings right away. You must have a platform by which you can put your properties for sale and also see other properties. The most popular platform in Baja California Sur is the Baja MLS (Multiple Listings Service). But in order to become a member of the Baja MLS, you need to work for a broker or you must become a broker yourself, which requires at least two years of experience.
