Cerralvo Island

One of the largest islands in the region, Cerralvo Island, also called Jacques Cousteau Island in his honor, is considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.  It is located off the Cerralvo Canal coast near La Paz in Baja California Sur. The island is 18 miles long with a land area of 136.498 square kilometers, and is the ninth-largest island in Mexico.

Jacques Cousteau named the Sea of Cortez “the aquarium of the world” for it’s great diversity of sea creatures.  And, this is the body of water he loved the most.  When you visit Jacques Cousteau Island, you’ll truly understand why he considered this place to be so amazing.

About La Paz

La Paz is a  big city with plenty of fun and entertainment.  It’s culturally-filled city with almost 500 years of history.  Discover there many exciting places to explore.  For example, you will find the Cathedral of Our Lady of La Paz, an impressive building dating from the 19th century.  Or, if you enjoy nature, La Paz also has a whale museum, the largest and most important in the region.

Incredible beaches in La Paz

If there is something to highlight in the beautiful city of La Paz, it’s this:  It has spectacular beaches.  To begin, there’s a beautiful beach in a tiny bay with pristine turquoise waters called Balandra beach.  Next, there’s El Tecolote beach.  There, you’ll find diving and kayak equipment for rent plus many restaurants and palapas for shade. Finally, there’s El Tesoro beach.  It’s a calm retreat with crystal clear waters and soft white sand.

Calypso Condominiums

Named in honor of Jacques Cousteau, the developers of Calypso Condominiums decided to use the name of his boat.  Calypso is the boat he sailed to explore this spectacular region.

Calypso is a four-story building with 12 condominiums.  Six of them boast panoramic ocean views while the other six provide great views of the majestic mountain range.  For your convenience, the ground floor is for parking.  As such, each condominium comes with one parking space and one spacious storage unit.
