El Pescadero Real Estate

North of Cabo San Lucas, right near Todos Santos, is the quaint fishing village of El Pescadero, which means “The Fisherman.”  It’s located in the municipality of La Paz, in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur, on the Pacific Ocean side of the peninsula.  El Pescadero is a town for visitors to enjoy a more authentic Mexican experience.  From shopping and fishing, to delicious street food and little eateries, this town is close to many master-panned communities, resorts, and famous beaches.

Beaches near El Pescadero

Visit the crescent-shaped expanse of pristine Mexican beach called Cerritos Beach, located right outside of El Pescadero.  Cerritos Beach is a popular surfing spot due to the great waves of the Pacific Ocean.  So, while Cabo San Lucas dominates the golfingfishing, and night-life scenes, Cerritos excels in tranquility.  Also, Cerritos Beach is the only safe beach along the Pacific side of the southern Baja peninsula

This magnificent beach offers everything you’d want in a Mexican beach – it’s an excellent family beach that boasts beautiful white sand and plenty of activities to enjoy, all year round.  You’ll find horseback riding, kayaking, and jet-ski rentals, just to name a few.

Local Festivals

Every March, El Pescadero hosts the Chili and Strawberry Festival, which celebrates and promotes the region’s agriculture.  Local organic plants and produce are sold during the festival.  Also, food is available to sample, and agricultural products and various tools-of-the-trade are on display from local vendors.  Finally, the festival concludes with a dance, crowning of a queen, and a cabalgante, which is a procession of horse and riders from Todos Santos.

Todos Santos

Todos Santos is a retreat for those who want to slow down and smell the roses.  And, it’s a haven for those who crave outdoor adventure.  Therefore, dine at a fine restaurant, take a siesta, and enjoy the natural beauty Todos Santos has to offer.  Or, explore miles of unspoiled beaches, go exotic bird watching, take an exhilarating hike, kayak, surf, snorkel, scuba-dive, and go fishing.  The sky is the limit!

Brief history of Todos Santos

Father Jaime Bravo established the southern-baja location as Nuestra Señora del Pilar de La Paz, back in 1723.  It eventually grew into a mission named Santa Rosa de Todos Santos in honor if its benefactor, Doña Rosa de la Peña.  Finally, the population of La Paz mission was transferred there after it received mission status.  But, the mission was then abandoned in 1749, and the town was renamed to Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Todos Santos.  After that, not much happened there for the next 100 years.
